I decided to "fake join" a purse swap on Craftster (it's a "fake swap" craft-along). So, first things first, I bought a pattern from etsy and got to work.

Here's the outside. There is a large pocket on the front, perfect for my cell phone. The top zippers closed.

And the lining! Now I can carry the music with me! This side has 6 credit card pockets and a zippered pocket. The other side has 2 standard pockets.
And what's inside the zippered pocket, you ask?

Rainbows!! This pocket makes me ridiculously happy!
Now for the "swap" we are supposed to make or buy 5 items to go inside the purse. 2 of those items must be handmade. I decided I needed a new wallet. The one I was carrying before was large enough to be a purse all on it's own, and I wanted something small and cute. I followed Babyangel's tutorial for a wallet and came up with this...

I have a zipper pocket for change, 2 credit card pockets and a larger pocket for cash or receipts or whatever. This is really all I need in a wallet. I only need to carry my credit card and ID. The other cards (insurance cards, gift cards, business cards, etc) will be getting their own pouch. Possibly 2 or 3. I'm still debating on fabrics, though.
With 2 kids, it's important for me to carry tissues, so I made a cute tissue cozy for my travel pack of tissue.
I just love this fabric. I got it in a swap over on Craftster.
So let's see... I have a wallet, a tissue cozy, I'm going to make a business card wallet, and I bought a tiny brush (for those days my daughter forgets to brush her hair before we leave the house). That leaves 1 item to make or buy. I will probably just buy something. The purse isn't all that big and I'm not sure what else I can cram in there. Maybe a little notebook! I'm always in need of paper to write things down. Yeah, I'm gonna go with that.
Well, that's enough babbling. I really should go work on a resume. I am wonderfully proficient at procrastinating.

love the wallet. I mean, the rest is nice, but the wallet... great. :D
Thanks! I'm glad you like the wallet; I like it too! I love the size, the fabric pattern (it started it's life as a bedsheet) and I worked hard to make sure those stripes matched up :)
